Embroidery with Ruth Burbery

Embroidery with Ruth Burbery Ruth Burbery, a member of the Embroiderers Guild, took up the beautiful old craft of embroidery as a child and went on to study a City and Guilds course.

This course she felt stifled her creativity, she has since developed her own inimitable style, focusing mainly on wildlife studies. Ruth is dedicated to the welfare of animals and caring for the natural world. She prefers to use materials which are not animal based but does occasionally use silk and wool, eg. commissioned work.
Ruth will teach groups of between four and six people, starting with how to embroider small birds or animals. Fellow enthusiasts will enjoy working with Ruth, she is a dedicated professional with a quiet and gentle manner.

Course dates:
9th – 13th Sept
23rd – 27th Sept
4th-8th November

Kit Flynn’s Cottage (our accommodation), on the edge of Mountcollins village, is situated on the West Limerick Scenic Drive on the Cork, Kerry Limerick borders.

Our tutors are all experienced highly trained professionals. We have an indoor studio for painting but where possible we explore the wonderful local countryside.

Kerry airport is 35mins. away and Shannon a 1hr 20min drive, we are easily accessible.
We welcome individual or group bookings. Tailor made courses are available for groups of between 4 and 6 people
A complete, professionally run package of the highest quality, in both accommodation and tuition is our aim.
